“Farmhouse” shows that good lighting is just as important for aerial photos as for general landscape images.
I originally planned to photograph a waterfall on this flight, but I spun the drone around as it landed and framed a photo in the other direction. I am glad that I did so — the lighting in this image is some of the best all trip.
As I finished this flight, the drone began to lose altitude quickly. I tried to compensate with the up/down controller, but that had no effect. Luckily, the left/right controls still worked, and I was able to pilot the plummeting drone over an open field to safety.
This was the last flight of my trip — a fitting end to two weeks of drone photography in Iceland.
